HISTORY OF MOUNTAIN OF FIRE AND MIRACLES MINISTRIES
MFM was founded in July 1989 at the home of Dr. D. K. Olukoya with 25 people at the first service. The Church later moved to No. 60, Old Yaba Road, Ebute-Metta, and finally to the present Headquarters site on 24th April 1994. Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, is a full gospel ministry devoted to the revival of apostolic signs, Holy Ghost fireworks and the unlimited power of God to deliver to the uttermost. At Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries worldwide, absolute holiness within and without is taught as the greatest spiritual insecticide, and a condition for heaven is taught openly. We are a do-it-yourself gospel ministry where your hands are trained to wage war and your fingers to fight.
The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries` Headquarters is the largest single Christian congregation in Africa with attendance of over 200,000 in single meetings. Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, is a ministry devoted to the revival of Apostolic signs, Holy Ghost fireworks and the unlimited demonstration of the power of God to deliver to the uttermost. Absolute holiness within and without, as the greatest spiritual insecticide, and a condition for Heaven is taught openly.
VISION AND MISSION STATEMENTS
The following are the visions and mission statements of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, as handed to the General Overseer.
- To propagate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ all over the world.
- To promote the revival of Apostolic signs, wonders and miracles.
- To bring together children of God who are lost in dead churches.
- To train believers in the art and science of spiritual warfare; thus making them an aggressive and victorious army for the Lord.
- To train believers to receive Holy Ghost baptism and fire as well as a daily walk and relationship with the Holy Spirit.
- To turn the joy of our enemies to sorrow. That is why we would always have a deliverance ministry wherever we are. If you do not believe in deliverance, you are not supposed to be in MFM.
- To build an aggressive end-time army for the Lord. MFM is an end-time church where we build an aggressive end-time army for the Lord. WHAT IS AN END-TIME CHURCH? An end-time church: is a church where a sinner enters with two options. He either repents or does not come back, contrary to the present day Church where sinners are comfortable and find things so easy and convenient.
- To deliver those who have become slaves to Pastors, Prophets and Apostles.
- To build up heavenly-bound and aggressive Christians. The priority in MFM is for people to make heaven. It is not a worldly Church.
- To build up prayer eagles. To purify the Pentecostal dirtiness of this age.
MEANING OF MOUNTAIN OF FIRE AND MIRACLES MINISTRIES
Mountain- A mountain is a high place and the mountain top is a place of victory. Moses prayed and fasted for forty days on the Mountain top and God gave him the 10 commandments. Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain (Ex 24:18). Elijah also prayed for 40 days and nights and by the time he came down he was full of the power of God. Jesus also went up to the mountain when he fasted for forty days. ‘‘He traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God’’ (1 Kings 19:8) That shows that every child of God should be on the mountain top in order to be above every power of darkness.
Fire- This fire is not the one used for cooking, it is the fire that comes from above when one receives power. In the bible days there was an event that happened and it was called the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-16). It was a day that can never be forgotten, as they were all praying the fire of God came down ‘And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them’ Acts 2:3. When the fire came upon them they began to speak in different languages and they were filled with the power of God.
Another big event happened during the days of Elijah, the people wanted to prove who was the true God and Elijah said the God that answers by fire is the true God. The little prophets worshiped Baal who was a fake god. On the appointed day, the prophets called on Baal all day but he did not answer because he can’t hear and is only a statue.
The fire represents the baptism of fire When Elijah got on stage he called unto God ’’Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The LORD -he is God! The LORD -he is God!” 1 Kings 18:38-39.
Miracles- A miracle is something that happens that only God can do. When you collect fire miracles are bound to happen. For example the Israelite’s crossing the red sea is a miracle.There are so many miracles that have been recorded in the bible. There are also many miracles that have been happening at MFM.
MEANING OF THE LOGO
MFM has a logo just as you have logos in your various schools. Sometimes these logos can be placed on cars doors bibles or bags. I am sure that you all know the meanings of the logos in your school. MFM logo has four different colours that you can see below.
Purple: Purple is a combination of red and blue, it is therefore believed to be the ideal colour. Most children love this colour. It is expensive and is associated with prosperity. The book of proverbs talks about the description of a good woman and Proverbs 21:22 states ‘‘She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.’’ Royalty in this meaning represents not only the kingdom of God but also prosperity
White: White is the colour of purity. Brides wear white in many countries because it is suppose to symbolize a virgin. The book of Leviticus is an instruction book, which tells the Israelites how to have access to God. Our God is a holy God
Red: Red is associated with fiery heat and warmth. It represents the tongues of fire as recorded in the book of Acts 2:3-8. Verse 3 says‘‘They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them’’
Black: Black provides a sense of potential and possibility. It portrays the mountain top.
These colours represent our position as children of the kingdom taking our position with Christ Jesus and claiming all His promises for us. When your friends ask, you can explain that purple means prosperity, white means purity, red means fire and black means mountain top.
